Ian Campbell Photography
As a design business, PALLADIO is 100% visual. Sometimes with residential projects but chiefly with institutional, creating visually attractive interior spaces and carefully selecting art that feeds into the design process can be tricky. However, Jay has had the magic of Ian Campbell and his cameras at his fingertips since 2010 and their collaborations phenomenal.
In creating the scope of any project, one of Jay’s greatest skills is to interview his clients, ask important questions, and truly gets under the skin of what defines the project, the people and the physical space. He looks for subtle details in personal or corporate histories, finds interesting architectural elements, asks about the tools of a trade or the textures of a company’s product, and is happy to hunt through archives, workrooms, or attics. Once the treasure hunt is complete, Jay meets with Ian, reviews the project scope, discusses the look and feel of the desired result… and waits. Time & time again - when Ian sends the results of his work, the typically-ordinary has become the extraordinary. Ian’s understanding of texture, light & shadow, backdrops, special object arrangement and the playful architecture within is lens is often genius. The most everyday objects become superstars because of the scale & drama in Ian’s work and his photographic talents have helped to make many of PALLADIO’s projects successful.
